Real Madrid Thrash Sevilla 4-1 as Mbappé Nets Brace, Diomande Shines and Güler Scores Golazo
Real Madrid produced another commanding display at the Santiago Bernabéu, defeating Sevilla 4-1 as Kylian Mbappé scored twice, Arda Güler opened the scoring with a stunning strike and Yan Diomande continued his impressive run of form.

Real Madrid strengthened their La Liga campaign with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday night, with Kylian Mbappé, Arda Güler and Yan Diomande all getting on the scoresheet.
The result gave José Mourinho’s side another important three points before their much-anticipated meeting with Barcelona next weekend. Madrid entered the game under pressure to keep pace with their rivals at the top of the table, and they responded with a performance that combined attacking quality, individual brilliance and strong control.
The victory also came without Vinícius Júnior, who was serving a four-match suspension following his dismissal against Villarreal. His absence meant Mourinho had to adjust his attacking options, but Madrid showed they have enough quality across the squad to cope.
Güler produces another special moment
Real Madrid started the match with plenty of possession but initially found Sevilla difficult to break down.
The visitors remained compact during the opening stages and attempted to frustrate Madrid’s attackers, but the home side eventually found the breakthrough in the 30th minute.
Arda Güler provided the moment of quality Madrid needed.
The Turkish midfielder collected the ball outside the area before unleashing a powerful strike that flew beyond the Sevilla goalkeeper. The finish was another reminder of Güler’s growing importance to Mourinho’s side and gave Madrid the lead after a relatively cautious opening.
Güler has increasingly become one of Madrid’s most dangerous players in the final third, and his ability to create something from distance once again proved valuable.
The goal also settled Madrid, who began finding more space as Sevilla were forced to push forward.
Mbappé doubles the advantage
Just seven minutes after Güler’s opener, Mbappé produced his own moment of individual brilliance.
The French forward received the ball and drove into the Sevilla defence, using his pace and close control to get beyond his markers before finishing past the goalkeeper.
It was a goal that demonstrated exactly why Madrid continue to rely heavily on Mbappé in important matches.
The forward’s movement constantly stretched Sevilla’s defensive line, while his ability to attack spaces behind the defence created problems throughout the first half.
Madrid went into the interval with a 2-0 advantage, having established a strong position in the contest.
Sevilla needed a quick response after the break, but Madrid remained in control.
Mbappé completes his brace from the penalty spot
The second half saw Madrid continue to threaten, and Mbappé was once again at the centre of the action.
The Frenchman was brought down inside the Sevilla penalty area, giving Madrid an opportunity to extend their advantage from the spot.
Mbappé stepped up and made no mistake.
His penalty in the 63rd minute gave him his second goal of the night and put Madrid firmly in command at 3-0.
The brace further underlined his importance to the team. With Vinícius unavailable, the responsibility on Mbappé to provide goals was even greater, and he delivered when Madrid needed him.
The striker’s two goals also took his league tally to another level as he continued his strong start to the campaign.
Sevilla pull one back
Despite being three goals down, Sevilla refused to completely disappear from the contest.
Manu Bueno gave the visitors something to celebrate in the 80th minute when he found the back of the net, reducing the deficit to 3-1.
For a brief period, Sevilla appeared capable of making the final stages uncomfortable for Madrid.
However, any hopes of a dramatic comeback were quickly ended.
Diomande restores Madrid’s three-goal lead
Just two minutes after Sevilla’s goal, Yan Diomande delivered the response Madrid needed.
The Ivorian winger finished in the 82nd minute to restore Madrid’s three-goal advantage and put the result beyond doubt.
It was another important contribution from a player who has rapidly become one of the most exciting additions to Mourinho’s squad.
Diomande had already scored the decisive goal against Villarreal in Madrid’s previous La Liga match, earning the Man of the Match award for that performance.
His latest goal means he now has five goal contributions across his last four starts, highlighting how quickly he has adapted to life at the Bernabéu.
The 19-year-old’s confidence has continued to grow with every appearance, and his combination of speed, direct running and willingness to attack defenders has added another dimension to Madrid’s attack.
His goal against Sevilla was ultimately the final major moment of the night as Madrid comfortably saw out the remaining minutes.
Mbappé takes the Man of the Match award
Although Güler and Diomande both produced important performances, Kylian Mbappé was the standout player and was named Man of the Match after his two-goal performance.
The Frenchman was central to Madrid’s attacking threat throughout the evening.
His first goal gave Madrid breathing room before half-time, while his penalty after the break effectively ended Sevilla’s hopes of getting back into the contest.
Mbappé’s performance was particularly important given Vinícius’ absence. Rather than allowing the change in attack to disrupt Madrid’s rhythm, the France international took responsibility and delivered the goals that helped secure another convincing home victory.
Güler also deserves significant credit for setting the tone with his spectacular opening goal, while Diomande’s late strike capped another encouraging display.
Mourinho’s side continue their momentum
The 4-1 victory is another positive result for Madrid as they approach a crucial period of the season.
The club have already had to deal with injuries, suspensions and a demanding fixture schedule, but the performance against Sevilla showed that Mourinho can call upon several players capable of deciding matches.
Madrid also demonstrated their attacking depth. With Vinícius unavailable, Güler, Diomande and Mbappé stepped forward and combined to produce all four of the team’s goals.
The defensive side of the performance was also strong for most of the evening, although Sevilla’s late goal prevented Madrid from recording another clean sheet.
Most importantly, Madrid avoided dropping points at a stage of the season when every result matters.
The victory keeps the pressure on Barcelona ahead of next weekend’s El Clásico, while Madrid can take confidence from the fact that they are producing goals from several areas of the pitch.
For Mbappé, the night belonged to him after another decisive brace. For Güler, it was another opportunity to show his spectacular finishing ability. And for Diomande, the late goal continued what is becoming an impressive run of form.
Real Madrid ultimately had too much quality for Sevilla, securing a convincing 4-1 win at the Bernabéu and sending a clear message ahead of the decisive fixtures that await them.
