PSG Thrash Le Havre 5-1 as Achraf Hakimi Scores Hat-Trick in Dominant Ligue 1 Display
Paris Saint-Germain produced another commanding Ligue 1 performance as they swept aside Le Havre Athletic Club 5-1, with Achraf Hakimi stealing the show by scoring three goals in a remarkable individual display.

Paris Saint-Germain continued their impressive run in Ligue 1 with a ruthless 5-1 victory over Le Havre Athletic Club on Friday night, producing an attacking performance that underlined their superiority from the opening stages until the final whistle.
The result was never short of goals, with PSG controlling possession, creating the better chances and eventually turning their dominance into a convincing victory. Le Havre briefly gave their supporters something to celebrate when Josh Maja found the net in the 18th minute, but the home side’s lead lasted only a short time before PSG responded.
Achraf Hakimi became the central figure of the contest, scoring three times to complete a memorable hat-trick. Mika Godts and Senny Mayulu were also on the scoresheet for the visitors as PSG demonstrated the depth of their attacking threat.
Despite conceding first, Paris Saint-Germain refused to panic. They continued to dominate possession and patiently searched for a way back into the game. Their approach eventually paid off when Mika Godts equalised in the 26th minute, restoring balance to the contest.
From that point onward, PSG began to take complete control.
Le Havre Strike First
Le Havre entered the match with the difficult task of dealing with a PSG side that had been in excellent form, but they made the perfect start when Josh Maja opened the scoring in the 18th minute.
The goal gave the hosts an early advantage and appeared to raise hopes of a major upset. PSG, however, responded with composure rather than desperation.
The visitors continued to move the ball around and maintain pressure, eventually finding their equaliser eight minutes later. Mika Godts scored in the 26th minute to make it 1-1 and immediately shift the momentum back towards PSG.
The equaliser was an important moment because it prevented Le Havre from settling into a defensive structure with the advantage. PSG now had the confidence to push forward, while the home side faced increasing pressure.
The first half ended with both teams having scored, but the statistics clearly reflected PSG’s control of the match.
PSG Take Complete Control
Paris Saint-Germain finished the game with 71 percent possession compared with Le Havre’s 29 percent, showing how much of the contest was played on the visitors’ terms.
PSG also recorded 15 total shots, with 10 of those attempts finding the target. Le Havre managed 14 shots overall, but only two were on target, highlighting the difference in efficiency between the two teams.
The visitors were particularly dangerous inside the penalty area, recording 11 attempts from inside the box compared with Le Havre’s 10. PSG’s ability to repeatedly get into dangerous positions eventually overwhelmed the home defence.
The second half belonged almost entirely to Hakimi.
The PSG defender completed his first-half involvement in the attack by scoring in the 28th minute, putting the visitors ahead. His attacking contribution from a position that normally requires significant defensive responsibility was one of the defining features of the match.
Hakimi then struck again in the 55th minute, extending PSG’s advantage to 3-1.
Le Havre now had a huge challenge on their hands. Having started the game positively and taken an early lead, they were suddenly two goals behind and struggling to cope with PSG’s movement.
Instead of slowing down, PSG continued to attack.
Hakimi Completes His Hat-Trick
Hakimi saved his best moment for the 69th minute when he completed his hat-trick.
Three goals from a defender is an extraordinary achievement at any level, and doing it in a Ligue 1 match against a team that had taken an early lead made the performance even more impressive.
His three goals also transformed what could have been a difficult night for PSG into a comfortable victory.
Hakimi’s performance demonstrated why his attacking qualities make him such an important part of PSG’s system. He was not simply contributing defensively from the right side; he was consistently finding opportunities in advanced areas and punishing Le Havre whenever space appeared.
The hat-trick also gave PSG a player who could be singled out for a performance filled with confidence, movement and attacking intent.
Mayulu Adds More Pain for Le Havre
PSG’s fourth goal came from Senny Mayulu in the 62nd minute, adding another layer to an already dominant display.
Mayulu’s goal arrived during a period when Le Havre were finding it increasingly difficult to contain PSG. With the visitors controlling possession and repeatedly getting shots on target, the home defence was under constant pressure.
The final scoreline of 5-1 reflected PSG’s ability to turn territorial dominance into goals.
Le Havre did manage to create opportunities of their own, recording 14 shots during the match, but their inability to consistently test the PSG goalkeeper proved costly. Only two of their attempts were on target, compared with 10 from the visitors.
PSG also missed three big chances, while Le Havre missed two. Those figures show that the score could potentially have been even more severe if the visitors had converted every major opportunity that came their way.
Achraf Hakimi Named Man of the Match
The obvious standout performer was Achraf Hakimi, whose hat-trick made him the defining player of the evening.
Scoring three goals is enough to make any performance memorable, but Hakimi’s influence went beyond simply finding the net. His willingness to attack from his position created another dimension for PSG and gave Le Havre additional problems to solve.
His first goal gave PSG the lead after Godts had levelled the match, while his second extended the advantage and his third effectively put the result beyond doubt.
Hakimi’s display was especially impressive because of the demands placed on modern full-backs. Players in his position are expected to defend, provide width, support attacks and contribute to the team’s buildup. Against Le Havre, Hakimi showed just how dangerous he can become when given freedom to attack.
His three goals also meant that the spotlight remained firmly on him even though several PSG players delivered strong performances.
For Le Havre, stopping Hakimi became increasingly difficult as the match progressed. Once PSG found their rhythm, the defender repeatedly appeared in dangerous positions and punished the hosts.
His hat-trick was therefore the defining storyline of the night and made him the natural choice for Man of the Match.
A Statement Victory for PSG
The 5-1 result represents another statement from Paris Saint-Germain in the Ligue 1 title race.
Their ability to recover from conceding first was particularly encouraging. Rather than allowing Maja’s early goal to disrupt their approach, PSG maintained their style and gradually imposed themselves on the match.
The 71 percent possession figure demonstrated their control, while 15 shots and 10 attempts on target showed that their dominance was not merely possession for possession’s sake.
Le Havre deserve credit for making a positive start and taking the lead, but PSG’s quality eventually became too much for them.
The final whistle confirmed a convincing victory for the visitors, who had scored five times after falling behind in the opening half.
For Hakimi, however, the night will be remembered for a different reason. His three goals turned him into the headline figure of a match that already belonged to PSG.
Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-1 victory was built on possession, attacking pressure and clinical finishing, but Hakimi’s hat-trick provided the defining moment. After Le Havre briefly threatened an upset, PSG responded with five goals and complete control.
The result sends a clear message about their ambitions, while Hakimi’s extraordinary attacking display gives the club another reason to celebrate.
For Le Havre, the challenge now will be to recover from a heavy defeat in which they showed flashes of promise but ultimately struggled to contain one of the league’s most powerful sides.
For PSG, the night could hardly have gone better: five goals, dominant statistics and an outstanding hat-trick from Hakimi.
