Barcelona’s remarkable start to the 2026/27 season continued in style on Tuesday night as they came from behind to defeat Galatasaray 4-1 in the UEFA Champions League.

Hansi Flick’s side found themselves behind in a difficult atmosphere at RAMS Park, but they responded with an outstanding second-half display to secure another emphatic victory.

The result means Barcelona have now won 10 consecutive matches across all competitions, maintaining their perfect start to the campaign. Their latest victory also gives them two wins from two Champions League matches after they opened their European campaign with a 5-1 victory over Feyenoord.

Four different Barcelona players found the net in Istanbul, with João Cancelo, Fermín López, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi all getting on the scoresheet.

However, the standout performer was Lamine Yamal, who was named Player of the Match after producing two assists and playing a major role in Barcelona’s comeback.

Galatasaray Take the Lead

Barcelona entered the game looking to maintain their perfect record, but Galatasaray made it clear from the opening stages that they would not make life easy for the visitors.

The Turkish side were backed by a passionate home crowd and managed to take advantage of one of their early opportunities.

Aleksey Batrakov opened the scoring in the 28th minute after Rafael Leão helped create the opportunity. Batrakov finished the move to give Galatasaray a 1-0 advantage.

The goal briefly put Barcelona under pressure, but the visitors continued to control large portions of the match.

Galatasaray thought they had doubled their lead shortly afterwards when Barış Alper Yılmaz found the net, but the goal was ruled out following a VAR review because of an offside.

That decision proved significant as Barcelona soon found their way back into the contest.

Cancelo Levels the Match

Barcelona continued pushing for an equaliser and eventually got their reward shortly before half-time.

João Cancelo brought Barcelona level in the 43rd minute with a composed finish after receiving the ball from Dani Olmo.

The goal was particularly important for Barcelona because it prevented Galatasaray from taking a lead into the interval.

Instead of going into the dressing room behind, Flick’s players had restored parity and had another 45 minutes to complete the comeback.

The first half ended 1-1, but Barcelona looked increasingly dangerous as the match progressed.

Yamal Takes Control

The second half was where Barcelona truly took control of the game, and much of their attacking threat came through Lamine Yamal.

The young winger produced a brilliant individual display, repeatedly causing problems for the Galatasaray defence with his dribbling, creativity and ability to create space.

Just five minutes after the restart, Yamal delivered a superb cross into the box for Fermín López.

Fermín attacked the delivery and headed the ball into the net to give Barcelona a 2-1 lead in the 50th minute.

It was the perfect comeback for Barcelona, who had gone from trailing 1-0 to leading 2-1 within seven minutes of the second half beginning.

But Yamal was not finished.

Gordon Doubles Barcelona’s Advantage

Only three minutes after Fermín’s goal, Barcelona struck again.

Yamal once again played a decisive role, producing another piece of impressive skill before creating the opportunity for Anthony Gordon.

Gordon finished the move to make it 3-1 and put Barcelona firmly in control.

Yamal had now created two goals in just a few minutes, and his influence on the match was becoming impossible to ignore.

His contribution was not limited to his assists. He constantly stretched Galatasaray’s defensive line, carried the ball forward and gave the home side very few opportunities to settle.

By the time Gordon scored, Barcelona had completely turned the game around.

Adeyemi Completes the Rout

Barcelona continued to attack despite holding a two-goal advantage and eventually added a fourth in the 65th minute.

Karim Adeyemi, who had come on as a substitute, found the back of the net to make it 4-1.

The German forward made an immediate impact after being introduced, adding another goal to Barcelona’s already impressive attacking performance.

Adeyemi’s goal effectively ended Galatasaray’s hopes of a comeback of their own.

Barcelona remained dangerous during the closing stages and continued creating opportunities, while Galatasaray struggled to respond to the visitors’ intensity.

The final whistle confirmed another convincing victory for Flick’s side.

Yamal Named Player of the Match

Although four Barcelona players scored, the official Player of the Match award went to Lamine Yamal.

The Barcelona winger finished the game with two assists, setting up both Fermín and Gordon during the decisive spell of the second half. UEFA’s official Champions League Player of the Match listing also confirmed Yamal as the award winner.

His performance was another demonstration of how influential he has become for Barcelona.

Yamal did not need to score to determine the outcome of the game. His creativity was enough to completely change the match.

His first assist was a perfectly delivered cross for Fermín, while the second came after an impressive piece of individual skill created space for Gordon.

His display was also significant because Barcelona needed a player capable of producing something special after Galatasaray had made the opening stages difficult.

Yamal provided exactly that.

Barcelona’s Numbers Show Their Dominance

Barcelona’s superiority was also reflected in the match statistics.

The visitors finished with 71 percent possession, compared with Galatasaray’s 29 percent. They also registered 22 shots, including 11 on target, while Galatasaray managed only five attempts and three shots on target.

Those numbers underline how Barcelona gradually took control of the contest, particularly after half-time.

The Spanish side also recorded 16 attempts from inside the penalty area, showing just how frequently they managed to penetrate the Galatasaray defence.

It was a complete attacking performance from a team that continues to find goals from different sources.

Ten Straight Wins for Barcelona

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Barcelona’s victory is the consistency they have shown throughout the campaign.

This was their 10th consecutive victory across all competitions, extending a perfect run that has seen them score heavily while continuing to find solutions when matches become difficult.

The victory over Galatasaray was particularly encouraging because Barcelona had to overcome adversity.

They conceded first, played in one of the most intimidating atmospheres in European football and were forced to fight their way back into the match.

Rather than allowing the early setback to disrupt their confidence, Barcelona responded with quality and composure.

Their second-half performance was the clearest indication yet that this Barcelona team can win in different ways.

A Strong Statement in Europe

Barcelona have now made an impressive start to their Champions League campaign, winning both of their opening matches and scoring nine goals in the process.

The 5-1 victory over Feyenoord was followed by an even more impressive result in Istanbul, where they recovered from conceding first to win 4-1.

There will undoubtedly be tougher challenges ahead, but Barcelona have given their European rivals plenty to think about.

With Yamal producing match-winning performances, different attackers finding the net and the team maintaining a perfect record, Flick’s side are beginning to look like a serious contender.

For Galatasaray, the defeat will be disappointing after taking an early lead, but Barcelona’s quality eventually proved too much.

For Barcelona, meanwhile, the message could hardly be clearer.

They are winning every game, scoring goals and finding different match-winners along the way.

And on a night when four different players found the net, it was the youngest attacking star who stole the spotlight.

Lamine Yamal created two goals, won the Player of the Match award and helped Barcelona turn a difficult night into another convincing victory.

Barcelona remain perfect. Ten games, ten wins.
